Aquí: lo incómodo que quieres hablar

November 2016

Head high. Fists down.

Do Something

Care about going to your son’s baseball game or your daughter’s on Sunday. If your Sundays are off work spend it wisely with the family, with your children, visit your parents or a sick relative.

There are different ways to worship… in all religions. Some go and plant trees or clean up the beaches. Some go to orphanages and spent time with lonely sad children. Some go to church and sit around and do nothing.

Whatever you believe in… do something!

You will never… until.

Maybe the smartest thing is to have a good attitude toward the bad experiences and the frustration and the sadness. But maybe the healthiest thing is to express yourself in unconventional ways and be fierce or quiet or loud or thoughtful and do whatever you got to do to overcome the difficulties this life may bring.

If it is the smartest or the healthiest alternative a person chooses, be kind always. We ignore their struggles as they ignore ours. The same medicine or methods for overcoming tragedies or sadness won’t work for all.

I took some time to watch RuPaul’s Drag Race, an unknown sub-culture for me. What amazing humans and what tremendous struggle. But we all humans struggle. Let’s climb in the skin of our neighbour and walk around in it. Shall we?
